The Annual RPG Conference for Researchers and Practitioners

The non-profit Annual International RPG Conference has taken place each year, usually during the summer. Researchers and practitioners from all fields are invited to submit proposals and papers. The founding of this event began at WorldCon 2015, and became a non-profit independent event open to the general public since then. The Annual RPG Conference for Researchers and Practitioners is organized and run by RPG Research (www.rpgresearch.com) a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit. The 2022 RPG Conference is scheduled for Saturday, August 13th at 101 North Stone Street, Spokane, Washington, 99201, USA. Open to the public but you must RSVP for in-person or online attendance tickets.

The 2022 RPG Conference is coming August 13th, 2022.

Due to our move to a new location, and the facilities not yet completely finished, this year's conference will just be all day Saturday.

In 2023 we will resume he full 3-day conference.

Conference General Schedule Outline

Tentative schedule (draft revision each year, may change):

Friday through Sunday weekend.

Friday:

  • 5:30 pm - Open doors for at-the-door tickets and pre-purchased registration.
  • 6:00 pm  to 9:30 pm - Opening Ceremonies & speaker sessions.

Saturday:

  • 8:30 am doors open.
  • 9:00 events begin.
  • 12:00 to 1:00 pm 1 hour lunch break.
  • 1:00 pm Afternoon sessions begin
  • 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm  1 hour dinner break
  • 7:00 pm Evening sessions begin
  • Evening sessions, wrap up around 9:30 pm.
  • Post-events social events may take place for 1-2 hours longer.

Sunday:

  • 8:30 am doors open.
  • Morning sessions
  • 30 minute lunch break.
  • Afternoon sessions.
  • 2:45 pm Closing ceremonies and end event at 3:00 pm to allow people to catch their transports back home.

Some offerings may include role-playing game sessions in different formats, "eating our own dog food" so to speak, that illustrate some specific research related point.

Breaks between sessions to allow audience to socialize and speak directly with panelists/presenters before next session.
